The new 24-story, 800-room convention hotel is part of a multi-year effort to revitalize the area and is expected to draw conventions and tourists alike. It is playing a vital role in connecting the surrounding amenities and venues of the downtown location that is supports. It has 60,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The 67,634 square feet of precast (527 pieces) are solid cladding panels with an acid etch finish. The project included an integrated cast-in-place parking structure that was clad with architectural precast concrete. The upper levels of the tower were steel frame with a combination of glass and additional architectural precast cladding to give the overall project a cohesive look. They were a combination of buff and gray colored panels with areas of recessed, decorative impressions.
Over 180 ARCIS precast panels that matched the finish of the primary cladding panels were utilized strategically on some of the lower levels where the use of thinner panels was advantageous.
